ABOUT THE COMIC

When I first found out about the Zuda competition, I was wracking my brains for inspiration. I wanted to do a story that had some personal ties, something mainstream without being another in the long line of zombie stories flooding the competition at the time. id was originally conceived on the backroads of Texas during a roadtrip. The meth addled small towns between Texas and California served as a breeding ground for the idea, along with the totalitarian justice of the Southern police.

The story follows Micky, a big city guy who gets thrown in the slammer of a small country town on the worst day possible. A full scale riot breaks while Micky's stuck in jail, leaving the town and its denizens in the clutches of a ruthless drug lord. Worse still, the drug lord is pushing a product he doesn't fully understand. id. It was supposed to be the wonder drug, but it's turning people violent and feral. Micky struggles to escape as an overzealous ATF troop advances, unaware that his dear sister is struggling to get into town to rescue him.

I entered this in May 2009, but it was rejected for the competition.
